The Heartbreak of a Beauty Lover

So I was doing my makeup yesterday and was thrilled to be trying out my new bronzer from MAC called ‘Give Me Sun’.

It’s the perfect terracotta colour and a gorgeous consistency, and I’m sure you will be able to relate to the horror that was about to occur.

I’m certainly not normal, and tend to sit on the basin whilst I’m doing my makeup, for some strange reason I feel the need to have my face just inches away from the mirror, and as I turned to grab my blush this baby slid off of the counter and shattered on the tiles!

I held my breath and it took all of my might to turn around and see the remains of my gorgeous bronzer!

Has anybody else had this happen to them? I’m sure we have all experienced it more that once! What was it that you broke and did you manage to fix it? I would love to be able to share my pain with you lovely ladies!

Thanks Lovelies!

  1. This happened to my NARS Laguna Bronzer once and I temporarily managed to fix it using Vodka. Here’s what I did but I never tried this technique on mineral products so I’m not 100% sure you can do it..?
Basically, I emptied the shattered product into a bowl and, using a spoon, grinded the whole mess into a fine powder. Then, using a dropper, I slowly squeezed the Vodka into the bowl and stirred until it was a thick paste.
Afterwards I spooned everything back into the original pan, laid a tissue over it and pressed down with a credit card (you’d need something to match the shape of the original container), then left it to dry for a while, I think 24 hrs.
It lasted for a while but cracked again, I think I might have manhandled it (oops). There’s plenty of Youtube tutorials, just search for ‘how to mend broken eyeshadows’, the technique is the same.
Be careful though, if done wrong it can ruin your beloved bronzer but I thought I might as well share, it’s so annoying when you find a good product and it get’s ruined!
    xx
